Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, objects to the Resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine if the Government fails to implement the Law on the Increase of Minimum Social Standards
"The Government is obliged to abide the law and we will make everything possible in order it is abided", - V. Lytvyn declared on Monday, giving comments regarding a relevant Party of Regions initiative. According to his words, Lytvyn Bloc faction was not going to vote for giving a vote of nonconfidence to the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to the Leader of the Parliament it is uncertain who would be responsible for the situation in the country in case Government would possess the status of functions performing. "They collected 150 signatures, and what is next? Who would be responsible for the situation in the country when the government would proclaimed that their work is being blocked?", - V. Lytvyn asked adding that initiators should show their plan, "show their vision of the next Prime Minister and who is going to form new coalition."
"It is necessary to give the acting Government opportunity to conclude."
The Leader of the Parliament does not exclude that the Faction of Regions demands resignation of the Government as the answer to the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc initiative regarding the dismissal of the First Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
"Probably it is connected with the fact that there are 153 signatures for the resignation of my colleague, Oleksandr Lavrynovych but it is obvious that the reasons for his dismissal are farfetched and political."
Giving answers to the journalists´ question, V. Lytvyn also informed that on 19 November Parliament would scrutinize in the first reading the Bill on State Budget 2010 and the program of the social-economic development of Ukraine for the next year. Together with this, he does not exclude that the scrutiny of this issue would be blocked.
V. Lytvyn informed that last Friday he met Yulia Tymoshenko, the Prime-Minister of Ukraine and discussed the issues concerning the Budget Code adoption. "The Prime-Minister appreciates that we should continue elaborating the Bill and search decisions that would face the state needs", - he declared expressing the thought that it is necessary to adopt the Principal Finance document of the state the Presidential campaign is terminated.
